Lip Filler

What is Lip Filler?

Lip filler uses a hyaluronic-acid gel — a substance your body already produces — to add volume, shape, or symmetry to the lips. It's injected in small, controlled amounts across a short appointment.

Most first-time patients start with a half syringe to a full syringe, added gradually so the result can be assessed as you go rather than committed to all at once.

Hyaluronic acid fillers are also reversible: if the result isn't right, the same enzyme used in emergencies can dissolve it, which is part of why they're a common starting point for patients new to injectables.

Good Candidates

  • •Patients wanting more volume, definition, or symmetry in the lips
  • •Anyone who wants a reversible, adjustable way to try volume before committing further
  • •Patients preparing for an event who plan ahead for 2-3 days of visible swelling

Not a Good Candidate

  • •Anyone with an active cold sore or infection near the mouth at the time of treatment
  • •Patients pregnant or breastfeeding
  • •Anyone expecting an immediately final result on day one — true shape settles over about two weeks

Your Appointment Timeline

1

Consultation

Dana discusses your goals and recommends a starting volume — usually half to one full syringe for first-time patients.

2

Numbing

Topical numbing cream is applied and given time to take effect before any injections.

3

Injection

Filler is placed in small, controlled amounts, with pauses to check shape and symmetry against your goals.

4

Ice and aftercare

Ice is applied to reduce swelling and you'll leave with written aftercare instructions.

5

Two-week check-in

Swelling fully resolves and true shape settles by around two weeks; a follow-up is offered if any adjustment is wanted.
